Marketing/Recruiting Assistant
Ministry: Student Venture Office, Human Resources Group
Description: “John R Mott, the leader of the Student Volunteer movement of the late 1800’s, said ‘he who does the work is not so profitably employed as he who multiplies the doers.’” Help find qualified college students and recent graduates to share of Student Venture ministry opportunities.
Environment: Work with a small group who helps fulfill the Great Commission by finding new staff and intern applicants.
Skills & Resources Needed:
1. Proactive problem solver with an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
2. Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships.
3. Ability to relate to staff at all organizational levels.
4. Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, internet and e-mail programs, along with a basic knowledge of Excel).
5. Ability to learn other data base programs.
6. Administrative skills with an eye for detail.
7. Proactively identify what needs to be done to more effectively move us towards the accomplishment of our vision.
8. Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
9. Team player yet self-motivated to work independently.
10. Critical thinking skills and the ability to handle a multi-faceted flow of strategic information.
11. Intellectually flexible to deal with complexities of contextualized ministry, our basic ministry philosophy.
12. Understands and owns the Student Venture mission, values and key objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Serve the Human Resource Personnel Coordinator and National Recruiting Director.
2. Assist in inventing new strategies to recruit in new areas or more effectively; development of new systems.
3. Updating our online job postings.
4. Update our recruiting website content.
5. Assisting in monthly email newsletter to prospects.
6. Assist in database contact updates.
7. Connect with university career departments.
8. Filtering and responding to all daily general email inquiries pertaining to recruiting.
9. Help our SV cities develop and follow through on their city’s recruiting plans.
10. Monitor and collect stats from each city to measure successful recruiting implementation (city recruiting staff reports).
11. Develop ways campus recruiting reps can be resourced, trained, and involved in recruiting.
12. Help with conferences and recruiting events.
13. Collect recruits’ contact information after all recruiting events.
14. Internet marketing of SV ministry opportunities.
Results:
1. Increased number of qualified staff and intern applicants nationally.
2. Recruits feel connected and informed.
