There is religious freedom and equal rights and opportunities for both Muslims and Christians to worship and propagate their faiths. Evangelicals grew dramatically in the 1990s. The inter-communal balance is, however, delicate, and the Muslim community is increasingly polarized between moderates and Islamists. Zanzibar is almost entirely Muslim.
