Spiritual Climate of Mozambique
Mozambique emerged wounded from colonialism and three decades of civil war. Christians suffered under Marxism, but since 1988 there has been religious freedom. Intense suffering has created spiritual hunger, and Mozambique has had the fastest church growth of any Black African country in the 1990s. Illiteracy, lack of Scriptures, legalism and syncretism are widespread.
