African traditional worldviews have gone hand-in-hand with Christianity. The deadness and formality of many older churches have stimulated rapid growth of the African Independent Churches, which offer excitement and miracles, but not always salvation by faith. Increasing tensions between Christians, Muslims, and Traditionalists have brought some limitations to religious freedom.
